OUr vision

That every child can see positive reflections of themselves in books—and has access to stories that inform, inspire, and celebrate the richness of cultures and the world around them.

Research shows that children who grow up in homes with at least 80 books experience significant benefits—richer vocabularies, stronger reading comprehension, and improved educational outcomes.

At Always Reading, we envision a world where every child has access to an abundance of high-quality, empowering books at home. Yet, it's no surprise that children from low-income households often have far fewer books—not only at home, but also in their schools.

We're committed to changing that, one book at a time.

To bring this vision to life, we distribute a carefully curated selection of free books designed to educate, empower, and inspire.

Our mission is to put as many of these books as possible into the hands of children who need them most—opening doors to worlds they may not otherwise know or imagine.

“Always Reading has provided students and families at Running Brook Elementary with the opportunity to build personal home libraries with self-selected culturally relevant books.   The opportunity of owning brand new, current, and popular books has created an environment of excitement and enthusiasm about reading in our building.  The joy of reading is evident when you see students sharing and talking about their books from the Always Reading bookshelf while walking down the hallway.   Thank you Always Reading for helping our families grow together through reading ! “
